Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility
In collaboration with UT Health Austin and the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes, faculty provide a high-quality and personalized approach to reproductive endocrinology, infertility and fertility preservation services in a patient-centered environment.
Faculty are board certified in and committed to advancing the future of the subspecialty through education and research. In addition, faculty have a goal of increasing access to care and addressing disparities in infertility in the local Austin community.
Current Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility subspecialty research includes projects to understand the molecular causes of recurrent pregnancy loss. The subspecialty regularly collaborates with faculty across the UT Austin campus as well as with external researchers at Yale University.
Gynecologic Oncology
In collaboration with UT Health Austin and the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes and partner Ascension Seton, subspecialty faculty members provide high-quality, comprehensive cancer care to women gynecologic cancers or women who are at risk of developing gynecologic cancers.
Faculty are fellowship trained and board certified or board eligible in the subspecialty and are actively involved in student and resident education, both in and out of the operating room.
Gynecologic Oncology has a diverse research program. Recent project topics include:
- Early detection of cervical cancer
- Interventions to improve screening for cervical cancer
- Clinical trials to improve the treatment of women with gynecologic cancer
The subspecialty regularly collaborates with faculty across the UT Austin campus, including those at the School of Information and the Moody College of Communication, as well as MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Family Planning
Subspecialty faculty members provide comprehensive, patient-centered reproductive health care services throughout the Austin community.
Faculty provide services across the family planning continuum, including contraception counseling in patients with complex medical issues, management of abnormal pregnancies (such as ectopic pregnancies) and management of difficult contraceptive procedures such as the removal of intrauterine devices or implants, among others.
Faculty are fellowship trained and are committed to advancing the future of the specialty through education and research.

The division regularly collaborates with the LBJ School of Public Affairs, the Texas Policy Evaluation Project and other groups to contribute to the research that informs best practices in reproductive health care.
