Get the Dell Med Experience
Train under leading experts in various fields and explore the vibrant city of Austin as a visiting student at Dell Med.
Fourth-year medical students from institutions accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) are eligible to complete an elective course as part of the schoolβs Graduate Medical Education program if admitted. Submit your application starting Feb. 15 using the Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO). Applications are due no later than six weeks prior to the start of the rotation.
Our Electives
Elective rotations take place for four weeks at locations throughout Austin. As a visiting student, you will also have access to supplemental training events and resources offered by the school. Housing is not provided for visiting students, but our team can offer guidance upon your acceptance.

Application Details
The Office of Student Affairs processes applications on a rolling basis, and decisions are communicated no later than four weeks before the rotation begins. To learn about the application process and see your status, visit VSLO.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Status as a fourth-year medical student at an institution accredited by the LCME or AOA
- Good academic standing
- Completion of your schoolβs clinical core clerkships
- A passing score on the USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Step 1
