Residency Demographics
Dell Med is home to 480 physicians in training (residents and fellows), an 85.3% increase since 2015, when the newly established school partnered with Ascension Seton to provide graduate medical education programs in Austin.

Here, 279 trainees identify as women; 199 trainees identify as men; and 2 trainees identify as nonbinary — 58.1%, 41.5% and 0.4%, respectively.
Race & Ethnicity
At Dell Med, 46.7% of trainees identify as white; 25.1% identify as Asian; 9.8% identify as Hispanic, Latino or of Spanish origin; 7.7% identify as Black; and 0.2% identify as American Indian or Alaska Native. About 10.4% identify as multiple races or ethnicities.

Students graduating from Dell Med in 2024 matched to residency training programs in 14 states. Training sites include Yale, Duke, Dartmouth, Stanford, Johns Hopkins and more.
